What better outfit for an all-day walking day than a Hard Rock Cafe T-shirt and a pair of bold color trousers? Personally I don´t like wearing a skirt or a dress with stockings when I have to walk for a long time, it´s just not my thing; I´d much rather wear a less chic but more comfortable outfit. One of the important pieces to watch when creating this outfit are the accesories; that´s why I tucked in my T-shirt and finished the look with a belt, mirror glasses and a big bag.

¿Qué mejor conjunto para pasar todo el día andando que una camiseta recta de Hard Rock Café con unos pantalones de un color vistoso? A mi personalmente no me gusta llevar un vestido o una falda con medias cuando tengo que pasarme todo el día andando, no es mi estilo; prefiero mil veces antes un conjunto más cómodo aunque sea algo menos chic. Uno de los puntos a los que hay que prestar más atención en este tipo de conjuntos es el de los complementos; yo le he dado un toque diferente, metiéndome la camiseta por dentro y adornar con un bonito cinturón; el toque actual de las gafas, y el toque practico de un bolso espacioso

Exam´s inspiration

With all the studying that I have to do, the stress and the lack of exercise and nights out these photos made me remember my trip to Barcelona and also, they´ve given me some cooking ideas that I would practice when I´m not covered in theatre´s theory and French translation. They are from the “Mercado de la boquería” in the center of Barcelona, which I really recommend you to visit if you can. I loved all the colors and the variety of fruits (my sisters and I went kind of crazy with them); we saw stands of fruits, juices, sweets and even homemade fruit ice cream.

Con todo lo que tengo que estudiar, el estrés y la falta de ejercicio y de salir por la noche estas fotos me hicieron recordar mi viaje a Barcelona e incluso me dieron ciertas ideas para cocinar cuando no esté cubierta por apuntes de teatro y traducción francesa.

Las fotos son del Mercado de la boquería en el centro de Barcelona, el cual os recomiendo que visitéis si tenéis oportunidad. Me encantaron el colorido y la variedad de frutas que tenían (mis hermanas y yo nos volvimos locas); vimos puestos de frutas, zumos, dulces e incluso helados caseros de fruta.

Bold colors

I love sober outfits with a pop of color, in fact I go for it a lot; and this one is no exception. Even though the outfit would be great with a denim jacket, the orange jacket gives it the perfect twist it needed to be chic.

Orange is not really on trend this summer but; in my opinion, while it is great to follow every season´s trend, you should have your own style, and it means that you can (and that you should) wear whatever you want to and that looks great on you. My advice is: always make a statement with something you like even if it´s not on trend.

Me encantan estos conjuntos con una pieza que le de color, de hecho es un truco que suelo utilizar bastante a la hora de vestirme, y ésta no es una excepción. Aunque en este caso el conjunto también habría quedado bien con una chaqueta vaquera, la chaqueta naranja le da el toque que necesitaba para ser chic.

Este verano el naranja no es uno de los colores tendencia pero, en mi opinión, además de seguir las tendencias de cada temporada, deberíais tener vuestro propio estilo, y eso quiere decir que podéis (y debéis) llevar lo que sea que os guste y os siente bien. Mi consejo es: usad siempre alguna pieza del conjunto para hacerlo distinto, incluso si no está de moda.

Packing tricks

Is there anything more frustrating than packing for a trip? Well I would personally travel with my entire wardrobe but it isn´t practical at all so I have some tricks, for when it comes to packing, that I´ve been developing for so many years that now, even my sister can´t travel without me packing for her. Here you have some of my ticks and I hope they´ll be helpful for you!

¿Hay algo más frustrante que hacer una maleta para irte de viaje? yo me llevaría todo mi armario pero como eso no es nada práctico yo tengo algunos trucos que he ido perfeccionando con el tiempo, tanto, que mi hermana no puede salir de viaje sin que yo le haga antes la maleta. Aquí os dejo los pasos que sigo, espero que os sirvan de ayuda!

1. Do a list! The first thing I do when I go on trip is a list of all the days and the outfits I´m going to wear, even though I add some pieces in case I´m inspired in wardrobe stuff-related.

¡Haced una lista! Lo primero que hago yo cuando me voy de viaje es hacer una lista de los días y los conjuntos que voy a llevar, aunque suelo llevarme algo de ropa de más por si quiero cambiar durante el viaje.                                            

2. Divide your suitcase in two: one for trousers/pants/skirts and another for T-shirts/dresses/shirts; because if you don´t, your clothes will get wrinkles.

Separa en dos columnas vaqueros/pantalones/faldas y camisetas/vestidos/camisas. Si no separas la ropa se te arrugará seguro. 

3. Fold your trousers in three, that´s the only way you´ll get them out of your suitcase like if you just ironed them.

Dobla los pantalones en tres, es la única forma de conseguir que cuando los saques de la maleta estén como recién planchados.

4. Always get a jacket! Even if you´ve read the weather will be warm, it never hurts to have options.

¡Llévate siempre una chaqueta! Incluso si has leído que hará calor nunca hace daño llevar un “por si acaso”.

Here´s one of the outfits that I wore on my trip to Barcelona earlier this month. The weather was very warm so I dusted off my favorite shorts, which color is one of the big trends for the summer, and threw on a black and white sweater. The thing I love from this outfit is the edgy vibe that the leather jacket gives to the look and; because I was walking all the time, I put my white converse on (the best investment of my life, apart from the Zara studded heels, because they go with almost everything and gives a sporty chic vibe to the outfits).

Este es uno de los conjuntos que llevé cuando fui a Barcelona a principios de mes. Al fin pude quitarles el polvo a mis pantalones cortos favoritos, de uno de los colores que son tendencia este verano, y conjuntarlos con un suéter blanco y negro. Lo que me gusta de este outfit es el toque cool que le da la chaqueta de piel y; debido a que me pasaba los días sin parar de andar, me puse unas converse blancas (en mi opinión es mi mejor inversión hasta ahora, aparte de los tacones de tachuelas de Zara, porque conjuntan con casi todo y le dan un look sport chic a los conjuntos).

Comunion hairstyle

For today´s post, instead of what I promised you last week, I have a hairstyle how to. I´ve been really busy with my exams and I have no time left neither for me nor for the blog.

This hairstyle is for a communion that my sister and I have this Sunday and I love doing her hair. She´s going to wear a pair of light pants and a white blouse with a bow on the side of her neck, so I decided to keep it easy but slightly showy with the hair.

For this hairstyle you´ll need: some bobby pins, three hairclips, a brush, a texture spray and a heat protector.

Para el post de hoy, en vez del post que os prometí la semana pasada, os traigo el tutorial de un peinado. Siento el cambio pero con los exámenes voy hasta arriba y apenas me queda tiempo libre.

Creé este peinado para una comunión que tenemos mi hermana y yo este domingo. Su outfit serán unos pantalones sueltos y una blusa blanca con un lazo en el cuello, de modo que escogí un peinado sencillo pero con un toquecillo.

Para recrear el look necesitaréis: unas horquillas, tres pinzas, un peine, un spray para dar textura al pelo y un protector del calor.

Step 1: Apply the texture spray and brush the hair to apply the product/ Aplica el spray para dar textura al pelo y cepíllalo para que quede producto en todo el pelo.

Step 2: Separate the hair in three sections and apply the heat protector/ Separa el pelo en tres secciones y aplica el protector de calor.

Step 3: Make a circle with a small section of hair around your fingers and place it into the straightener. Let it sit for a few seconds and let it stay a few seconds more in your palm to let the curl sit/ Haz un círculo con un mechón pequeño de pelo alrededor de tus dedos y ponlo en la plancha. Déjalo unos segundos  y luego déjalo en la palma de tu mano unos segundos más para que el rizo se asegure.(Repeat this part in all the hair)

Step 4: Once all the hair is curled, take a small section of hair from the bottom or your head and braid it. Take it around the hair and make a loose ponytail and you are done!/ Una vez hayas rizado todo el pelo, coge un mechón pequeño de pelo de la parte de abajo de tu cabeza y trénzalo. Envuelve el pelo en la trenza haciendo una coleta suelta y ¡ya está!
