A 90´s touch

90´s style? High waisted jeans, done; edgy T-shirt, done; bold red lip, done. To finish the look I added a pair of nude pumps to get a more glamorous look. I personally don´t usually go for this look but there are some days when I feel more edgy, and I´m a sucker for a red lip but in my opinion it only works with a certain look, even more if you have big lips.

¿Cómo conseguir un look de los 90? Pantalones vaqueros de cintura alta, una camiseta con flecos o con aire rockero y un pintalabios rojo. En este caso para darle al look un aire más glamuroso le añadí unos tacones nude. Normalmente no suelo llevar este tipo de look, pero de vez en cuando me apetece y, sobre todo, me encantan los pintalabios rojos, que en mi opinión no quedan siempre bien y más en el caso de las chicas con labios grandes.

Because it´s always important to be true to yourself, I´ve decided to show you this pictures that, in the moment I thought they weren´t appropriate for some posts, but now they make perfect sense. When I started writing this blog I made a promise to my photographer (my eldest sister) and to myself, to be natural and of course not to take me too serious and to laugh, to laugh always. The first rule in my case, is  to ALWAYS pose as my sister pleases.

En este post he decidido enseñaros estas fotos, que en su momento no me parecieron apropiadas para algunos posts, pero que son perfectas para este. Cuando empecé a escribir este blog le hice la promesa a mi fotógrafa y hermana mayor y a mi misma, de mantenerme fiel a mi misma, ser natural, no tomarme demasiado en serio y reír siempre. En mi caso la primera norma es ponerme SIEMPRE como quiere mi hermana.

We always have to deal with windy weather, which I hate, and with no so likeable places to shoot; and in every shoot, there´s always a jumping moment(performed by me or my sister). J

Preppy girl

Today´s look is more sophisticated and preppy than what I´m used to try on. These pants are giving me a really hard time when I try to style them, but I decided that a pair of beautiful floral pants weren´t going to win the battle. So after trying half of my wardrobe on I came up with this ensemble. I have to say firstly I was shocked because I´ve always pictured these pants with only cropped tops but I´m very happy with how they look with a buttoned up shirt.

El look de hoy es algo más sofisticado y de niña buena de lo que suelo llevar normalmente, pero estos pantalones decidieron interponerse en mi camino y me lo pusieron difícil a la hora de combinarlos. Decidí que un par de pantalones de flores no iban a poder conmigo y, después de ponerme medio armario, conseguí crear este look. He de decir que me sorprendió bastante que me gustasen los pantalones con una camisa, porque siempre me los había imaginado con una camiseta cortada en el ombligo; pero el resultado me pareció muy bonito.

Because I´m happy

Because one day you just get up happy. I love walking the streets with my headphones on and feeling the music, just smiling. Well today was one of those days so I didn´t need too much going on my outfit, only a classic total white look with some gold detailing. And as today I´m extremely passionate and cheerful I dare you all not to ever let yourself down or lose hope on fulfilling your dreams. Keep on trying and remember that you can make every day count!  

Hoy para mí es uno de esos días en los que te sientes feliz. Esos días en los que voy por la calle con mis cascos escuchando música y dándolo todo sin preocuparme si alguien me mira; solo sonrío. Para hoy, por lo tanto, un look clásico era lo que mejor se me adaptaba; así que creé este look blanco entero con los detalles en dorado. Y, como hoy estoy especialmente contenta os recuerdo que nunca debéis tirar la toalla o perder la esperanza en cumplir vuestros sueños. ¡Seguid intentándolo y recordad que podéis hacer que cada día cuente.

Simple by the beach

I personally hate when somebody doesn´t dress to the occasion properly, especially in the beach. I´m tired of those girls who do their make up like if they were in a club, they put on their heels and a very tight skirt and they say “oh, I´m going to sit in the sand”. Keep it natural girls! To walk on the beach you have to keep it simple: just a pair of shorts, a comfy t-shirt and maybe a hat to make the ensemble cooler. Just remember not to overdo yourselves.

Personalmente  odio cuando alguien no se viste acorde con el lugar a donde va, sobre todo cuando el sitio a donde va es la playa. Estoy cansada de ver a chicas maquilladísimas con tacones y faldas ajustadas que van tan dignas a sentarse en la arena. ¡Hay que ser natural y realista! Para andar por la playa solo necesitas unos vaqueros, una camiseta suelta y quizás un sombrero para darle gracia al conjunto. Recordad dónde vais y no os paséis.

Formal sequins

Why not mixing sequins and a floral jacket to break the formal vibe of the jacket? I´ve had this jacket for a long time but I´ve always seen it too formal to wear it to school or just for going out, so I thought that with the right pair of trousers it would look awesome, and I was right!

Florals are always a big trend for spring, but I refuse to wear it with a bright color that matches with one of the colors of the flowers; so this pale sweater was perfect to me. This outfit completely gets the “I´m not trying to hard” style that I was looking for this time.

Para el outfit de hoy pensé en romper el aire formal que tiene la chaqueta de flores con este suéter de lentejuelas. Esta chaqueta llevaba ya un tiempo en mi armario sin ver la luz porque siempre me parecía demasiado formal para llevarla a la universidad o dar una vuelta; así que pensé que cuando encontrase unos buenos pantalones básicos la sacaría a pasear, ¡y tenía razón!

Los estampados florales siempre son tendencia en primavera, pero me niego a conjuntarlo con  una camiseta de un color vivo a juego con el color del estampado, por esta razón he decidido usar esta vez un suéter de color beige. Gracias al color del suéter conseguí ese look de “chic sin intentarlo”.
